BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
The City of Danville is a City Manager form of government
. The Board of Commissioners is composed of four commissioners and the Mayor (KRS 83A.020). All legislative and executive authority is vested in the Board. The commission shall establish all appointive offices; shall promulgate codes, rules, and regulations necessary for the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of the City; shall provide for sufficient revenue to operate the City and appropriate such funds in an annual budget; may require any officer or employee of the City to make a sworn statement regarding the performance of his official duties; and shall create the Office of City Manager and set the qualifications for the office (KRS 83A.150,,).
Members of the current Board of Commissioners are: Mayor Mike Perros, Mayor Pro Tem J.H. Atkins, Commissioner Kevin Caudill, Commissioner Rick Serres, and Commissioner Denise Terry.
The Mayor is elected for a term of four year and each of the four City Commissioners are elected for a term of two years.
Ron Scott is the City Manager
in Danville. The City Manager provides information and policy recommendations to the City Commission and implements their decisions, recommends to the City Commission the appointment of all personnel, recommends a proposed budget and administers the City Budget once adopted, and oversees all departmental operations with the assistance of the management team.
ANTHONY GRAY, JR
Anthony Gray, Jr. is the Police Chief in Danville. The Danville Police Department is an accredited agency with 34 sworn positions. The Danville Police Department's mission is to improve the quality of life in Danville by working together with all citizens to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote public safety.
CITY CLERK/HR DIRECTOR
Donna Peek is the City Clerk/HR Director in Danville. The Office of the City Clerk is the Official Custodian of records for Danville. Open Records requests, requests to be on the agenda, Cemetery deeds, Liability claims are processed through this office. The Human resource department is responsible for facilitating the hiring processes from entry to retirement, insurance, workers comp, training and safety and other related issues.
Earl Coffey is the City Engineer in Danville. The City Engineer's Office is responsible for the oversight of all Water and Wastewater functions of the City as well as overseeing the Public Works and Cemetery operations. Requests for service are routed through this office.
Ken Pflug is the Fire Chief in Danville. The Danville Fire Department has 25 Full-time Firefighter's/EMT's along with a staff of part-time recruits. The Danville Fire Department's motto is: "You call - We respond."
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Michele Gosser is the Chief Financial Officer and oversees the Finance Department which administers all financial functions of the City. Included among its many duties are: General Accounting Activities, Accounts Payable and Receivable (Billing), Payroll, Custody of Funds, Cash Flow, Debt Administration, Managing City Investments, Grant Financial Administration, and Financial Reporting including the Annual Audit.
DIRECTOR OF CODES ENFORCEMENT/ABC ADMINISTRATOR
Bridgette Lester is the Director of Codes Enforcement/ABC Administrator in Danville. The Codes Enforcement Department is responsible for codes complaints, collecting insurance premium tax and parking fees for surface lots and parking garage, registration of businesses, staff support for Architectural Heritage Board and administrator for Alcoholic Beverage Control.
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
Rebecca Hafley is the Director of Communications (911) in Danville. The Danville 911 Center is responsible for answering and dispatching all 911 calls to the Danville Police Department, Danville Fire Department, EMS, Boyle County Fire, Perryville Police, Junction City Police and Fire, and the Boyle County Sheriffs Department.
