Starting on July 31 at 11:00 a.m., the Danville 911 Center will be equipped with "Text to 9-1-1" technology, allowing dispatchers to receive and respond to reports of emergencies by text message. To report an emergency by text message, simply send a message to 9-1-1 and a dispatcher will respond immediately, just as they would if you call. This service to be used for emergencies only. The sender must be within Boyle County to reach a dispatcher. For more information, call 859-238-1220.
