Executive Order To Enforce Social Distancing

April 03, 2020 News

Executive Order 2020-04-01: City of Danville issues Executive Order to enforce Social Distancing to enforce Governor Beshear’s Executive Order 2020-246 that requires all life-sustaining retail businesses that remain open to practice social distancing and adhere to hygiene guidance from the CDC and Kentucky Department of Public Health, including:

  • Ensuring physical separation of employees and customers by at least six feet;
  • Ensuring employees practice appropriate hygiene measures, including regular, thorough handwashing;
  • Regularly cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces; and
  • Ordering sick individuals to leave the premises.

As our businesses in Danville strive to be in compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order, the City seeks to assist them by revising maximum occupancy capacity to 25% of the pre-pandemic level as established by the City’s fire marshal through a local executive order, effective immediately for the duration of the state of emergency. This local executive order is being issued after consultation with the Danville Mayor and Commissioners, together with your County leaders on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.
