SPARK! Places of Innovation Exhibit

Kentucky Humanities, in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution, will be bringing the SPARK! Places of Innovation exhibit to Kentucky! This exhibit explores innovation and invention in rural communities and features diverse stories gathered from across the nation. Panels featuring photographs, interactive stations, games and videos will bring a multi-layered experience to reveal the leaders, successes, and innovation in each town. Throughout the run of the SPARK exhibit, adults and youth can visit our Innovation Stations. These creative spaces will provide visitors with opportunities to explore their own inventiveness through a variety of hands-on activities. School field trips tot he exhibit are available on Wednesdays & Thursdays beginning September 13th.Transportation grants are available! More information is available on the Library website.

YA Gaming Guild

Calling all gamers! Join us each week for YA Gaming Guild, where tweens and teens can relax, play games, have some snacks, and hang out with other gamers. We play all kinds of games, including video games, board games, card games, tabletop RPGs, and more. Whatever we’re playing each week, you’re sure to have a great time! New and returning gamers are always welcome at YA Gaming Guild! (Ages 11-18)

SPARK! Exhibit Opening Reception

Join us for the opening reception of the SPARK! Exhibit on Thursday, September 14 from 6:00-7:30 PM at the Boyle County Public Library. Explore the exhibit panels, the Innovation Station, and the Wayne Daugherty 3-D art exhibit in the Georgia de Araujo Gallery. Refreshments will be served.

Wayne Daugherty 3D Art Exhibit - Artist Reception

In conjunction with the SPARK! Exhibit, the library will host a 3D Art Exhibit featuring artwork by local artist Wayne Daugherty. The exhibit features 3D sculptures made with EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) foam. These sculptures are constructed with foam, then painted with primer and acrylics. Box cutters, Dremel tools, and super glue are used in the creation of the 3D sculptures. Videos showing the artist’s process can be found online at https://www.youtube.com/@reddogprops. Much of the art will be for sale. Visit the exhibit any time during regular library hours September 9 - October 14.

Scarlet Cup presents "A Doll's House" at The Great American Dollhouse Museum

Written in 1879 by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, "A Doll's House" is a three-act play about a housewife who becomes disillusioned and dissatisfied with her condescending husband. The play raises universal issues and questions that are applicable to societies worldwide.
