The Fire Chief plans, organizes, coordinates, implements, and evaluates the activities of the municipal fire department. This position oversees and administers the fire department which include fire prevention, fire
suppression, first responder emergency medical services, rescue services and serves as the city’s Emergency Management Coordinator. This position performs administrative, operational, and professional
management work in providing direction and support based on state statutes KRS 83A.080 and City of Danville Ordinance #1617 including recruiting, onboarding, training, and managing personnel in
compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. The Fire Chief is required to exercise good judgment and supervision of fire services, first responder services and emergency management systems and is responsible
for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under their direction and control.

City Manager

Employment Type: Full Time

Under the general supervision of the Board of Commission the City Manager will be responsibilities for the proper administration of all ordinances; recommendation of appointment and termination of all employees; preparation of budget for Board approval and administration of budget; preparation and submittal of all end of the fiscal year financial reports; advising Board of financial conditions and future needs; maintaining liaison with appropriate regional and state agencies; supervising all departments and employees; and performing other duties required by statute.

Minimum requirements include an undergraduate degree in Public or Business Administration or closely related field combined with at least 5 years of increasingly responsible public management experience with preference for municipal management experience. A Master’s Degree in Public or Business Administration is preferred. ICMA Credentialed Manager status is a plus and preference will be given to experienced town/city managers, assistant town/city managers and department heads from jurisdiction of comparable size and complexity to Danville and whose experience includes utilities. Valid driver’s license required. Must have expertise in budget and finance, intergovernmental and community relations, redevelopment and economic development. The successful candidate will be politically astute, have exceptional interpersonal skills and enjoy community involvement. He or she will clearly possess and apply superior management and leadership abilities
