Chili Cook Off

The Lantern at Morning Pointe Danville, part of the full-service Morning Pointe Senior Living campus, is hosting a Chili Cook Off on Friday, March 13 from 2:00–4:00 p.m. Local cooks are invited to compete for free, with trophies and prize baskets awarded to first, second, and third place. Only 10 competition spots are available, and each chili must have a creative name. Community members are invited to attend, sample the entries, and vote for their favorite for $6 per person. We will be learning the hand building technique of crafting a mini fariy garden for our spring gardens. You will create a unique fairy garden to enjoy for years to come. Sourdough - Beyond the Basics

Sourdough Beyond the Basics with Honey's Homestead | Saturday, March 14 | 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM | Ages 14+ | $95 Come for a 90-minute course in start-to-finish sourdough! Students will leave with samples and directions for 4 sourdough recipes: soft sandwich bread, brown butter chocolate chip cookies, scones, dinner rolls. *Samples could potentially be opened during class and consumed. Allergy Alert: dairy, egg, wheat. This will be a nut-free class. Hannah Rubsam is the owner of Honey’s Homestead, a sourdough microbakery located in Berea and has taught hundreds of emerging bakers over the last two years how to get started on their own sourdough adventure.

This informal Q&A, held at The Downtown Hub on the third Thursday of each month at 10 am, is your chance to meet with the Planning Director to learn about planning, provide insight on zoning and development procedures, and talk about the future of our community, all over a cup of coffee. Everyone is welcome, whether you're curious about local development, passionate about urban planning, or just want to talk with the team.

Musical Storytime

Join us for a FREE musical storytime on the third Thursday of each month at 11am at Plaid Elephant Books. Our fabulous facilitator, Joan Stansbury, is a retired music educator. Each month, Ms. Joan will read a story, then lead music and movement activities inspire by the story. This is a free event, geared at older toddlers and preschoolers - but all ages are welcome.
