Celebrate Black History Month in Danville!

At the January 23rd City Commission Meeting, the City of Danville's Board of Commissioners made a proclamation recognizing February as Black History Month and encouraged all citizens to join in the celebration of Black History in our community and across the nation.

2024 Black History Month Proclamation

While, nationally, we may celebrate Black History Month in February, Danville has many opportunities for celebration and education year-round.
The Danville-Boyle County African American Historical Society, in particular, provides historical records, photos, collected stories, genealogies, and more.
