January at Art Center of the Bluegrass
January 2025 Update from Art Center of the Bluegrass:
Happy New Year! The Art Center is kicking off 2025 by filling the year with great programs, classes, camps, and workshops to connect you to art, culture, and creativity.
We are kicking off the new year with exciting news! The Art Center will be providing Art Therapy sessions for adults and teens. Led by licensed art therapist Danielle Creamer, these group sessions are just $15 to attend. Danielle has worked with individuals who found resilience through chronic illness, trauma, physical disabilities, neurodivergence, and mental health conditions.
The theme for adult sessions will be Self-Compassion: A Journey to a Kinder and Connected Self. The artwork will be organized into three groupings from January to June. In January and February, the sessions will focus on self-kindness. March and April will be dedicated to common humanity. The final two months of the series will hone in on mindfulness.
Adult sessions will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month beginning January 9. No prior art skillsare required, and materials will be provided.
Sessions for neurodivergent teens ages 12-17will be held from 1-3 p.m. on the fourth Saturday of each month, beginning on January 25. These sessions are also just $15 to attend.
We are able to offer low-cost art therapy sessions thanks to a grant from WHAS Crusade for Children.
