Jennie Rogers Community Center Grand Opening set for August 9th

In May 2021, The City of Danville purchased the former Jennie Rogers Elementary School at 401 E Main Street, with the goal of renovating, and providing a service-focused community center that would allow expanded programming and additional recreation opportunities for the entire community.

A portion of the community center was leased by Boyle County Schools for the development of the Boyle County Early Learning Center, an early childhood education facility, open to all families with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. The Boyle County Early Learning Center is now enrolling for Fall 2024. Learn more about the Boyle County Early Learning Center here: Early Learning Center - Boyle County Schools (kyschools.us)

Now, renovations are complete and, with the partnerships of organizations like the Arts Commission of Danville-Boyle County, Danville Schools Cradle School, Opening Act, & Teach Peace, the Jennie Rogers Community Center will offer free and low-cost community programs for all!

On August 9th, we hope you will join us for a Grand Opening Celebration at the Jennie Rogers Community Center.

Lunch will be served from Noon to 1:00 p.m. followed by a brief ceremony and ribbon cutting. From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. the facility will hold an Open House for tours of the center, and to learn what partnering organizations have planned for their spaces!
