Beware of scams! The City of Danville has been notified of customers receiving fraudulent calls from someone claiming to be the City of Danville Water Department who was demanding payment for past-due bills. Fortunately, these customers were aware their accounts were up-to-date and were quick to report the scammers.
Here's few things to keep in mind if you receive a suspicious call:
If the City of Danville Water Department is contacting you, they will have your account
information readily available and will be able to verify your account details when discussing any past-due bills.
Scammers always want you to act fast. If you're unsure of the identity of the caller, it's okay to hang-up, and call our office directly to be connected with a representative. Call 859-238-1200, dial 1 and 1 to reach the Utilities Office.
