The City would like to promote the upcoming opportunity for local first responders past and present to participate in Memorial Plaza Sculpture.
The City of Danville has engaged Louisville based artist Guy Tedesco to create a sculpture for the Memorial Plaza in front of the new central fire station. The sculpture will include a piece of steel from one of the World Trade Center towers. The base of the sculpture will have a lit glass feature with thumbprints etched into the glass.
The artists would like to feature the thumbprints of past and present local first responders and their families.
There will be two opportunities to participate for those interested. The artists will be at the Arts Center of the Bluegrass located at 401 W. Main St., on Thursday, April 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, April 16th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
